Rep. Donni Steele (R-Orion Township) today led the House in adopting a resolution to declare March 2025 as Women’s History Month in the state of Michigan.
“Our state has a proud history of strong and innovative women,” Steele said. “Every year we should honor the legacy and accomplishments of women who’ve come before us and strive to inspire and pave the way for the women of the future.”
Steele is one of 44 Michigan state representatives currently in office that are women. Steele serves on the House Appropriations Committee, as chairwoman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Local Transportation, vice chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Insurance and Financial Services, and as a member of the Joint Capital Outlay and Public Health Appropriations subcommittees. Steele said she invites her fellow legislators to join her in supporting the resolution.
“While we celebrate women this March, it’s important we remember that women make history each and every day,” Steele said. “I invite all my fellow legislators to join me in supporting past, present, and future women. It’s time both sides of the aisle come together to honor real women with real stories, real legacies, and real contributions.”
