State Rep. Doug Wozniak (R-Shelby Township) praised the signing of a new road funding package in Macomb County, calling it a major step toward fixing Michigan’s aging infrastructure and improving safety for drivers.

“This road funding package is real action that Michiganders have been promised,” said Wozniak. “Macomb County and all Michigan residents have waited too long for safer, smoother roads. This plan delivers meaningful investment without raising taxes.”

The bipartisan plan provides $1.6 billion in road and bridge funding statewide, directing resources to local projects. The package ensures transportation dollars are used solely for roads and bridges, not diverted to unrelated programs.

“Passing this funding is the first step,” said Wozniak. “We will work with local and county officials to ensure projects are completed efficiently and transparently. Now it’s about safer roads, stronger communities, and accountability for every dollar spent.”
